MEET THE TEAM

Matt Cocker

Matt has been a dedicated professional in the fitness industry since 2002, and a qualified Personal Trainer. Originally based in Queensland, Matt relocated to Launceston in 2018 to be closer to family.

During his time in Queensland, Matt competed in various cycling teams within the National Road Series and achieved notable success in triathlons over a six-year period. After 11 years of competitive cycling, he transitioned to CrossFit in 2013 and has been deeply engaged in the CrossFit community ever since.

Today, Matt and his wife, Haylee, collaborate to run UNITE Strength & Conditioning, where they continue to inspire and support their clients' fitness journeys.

Sandie Wilson

With over 20 years of service in the Australian Army, Sandie Wilson transitioned to the fitness industry in 2010, bringing with her a wealth of discipline and dedication. In her career, Sandie has excelled as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Coach and has also served as a senior instructor for Certificate III and IV in Fitness qualifications for five years.

Sandie’s journey into CrossFit began in 2011, leading her to complete the CrossFit Level 1 certification and the CrossFit Kids course in 2012. Since then, she has continuously expanded her expertise in strength, conditioning, and functional fitness. Sandie has coached at various CrossFit boxes across Queensland, New South Wales, and now Tasmania.

Her extensive involvement in sport and fitness includes representing the Australian Defence Force and North Queensland in touch football at the national level, participating in triathlons, bodybuilding, and competing in numerous CrossFit events.

Currently, Sandie is pursuing a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance to deepen her knowledge of rehabilitation and recovery. She relocated to Tasmania in 2020 to join the UNITE Strength & Conditioning team, where she continues to inspire and support members with her extensive experience and passion.

Haylee Cocker

Haylee has been an integral part of the fitness industry since 2010, initially specialising in Personal Training. Her journey took a significant turn in 2013 when she discovered her passion for CrossFit. After completing her CrossFit Level 1 certification in January 2014, Haylee began coaching and quickly became a dedicated advocate for the sport.

During her time in Queensland, Haylee was a state representative for the North Queensland Women's U18 Touch Football team. After two ACL reconstructions, she transitioned her focus to CrossFit and triathlons.

Following brief breaks in 2017 and 2019 to welcome her two daughters and a son in 2022, Haylee has returned with a renewed focus on pregnancy and postpartum training. She now partners with her husband, Matt, at UNITE Strength & Conditioning, where they are committed to delivering exceptional fitness guidance.

Brett Mortimer

Brett brings over 5 years of experience to the team, and is skilled in performing Olympic lifts with precision and ease. Known for his laid-back and approachable style, Brett creates a supportive and relaxed environment for clients.

Alongside his coaching role, he balances his expertise with his responsibilities as a high school teacher, continuously developing his skills to effectively guide members towards their fitness goals.
